Images entered by members into competitions may be uploaded images to the website, you should avoid entering images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website could download and extract any location data from images on the website.

The SCC complies with the principles of data protection (the principles) enumerated in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will make every effort possible in everything we do to comply with these principles.

What data does the SCC collect?

When members join SCC the data we normally collect includes names, postal addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. We collect this data directly from members and individuals. We also collect data on judges and speakers.

Some data is published in our programme booklet and on the SCC website.

What is this personal data used for?

We use data for the administration of the club membership of the SCC. We use committee member’s data in the production of our Programme booklet. We use emails to enable us to contact members, keeping them informed of club news and notices.

Who is your data shared with?

Data on SCC committee members and officers is passed on to the Surrey Photographic Association, Regnum Crouch Group, the South Downs Trophy clubs and assorted camera clubs.

When images are selected for outside competitions on behalf of SCC, some personal information may be supplied with the images.

Data is shared between designated committee members who carry out club functions by use of email only.

Who has access to your data?

Members of the committee and officers of SCC have access to data in order for them to carry out thier legitimate tasks for SCC.

How is your data stored?

This information is stored in digital form on private computers. The information is password protected.

How long do we keep data for?

We normally keep club data for 3 months after a member leaves the club, in case the member wishes to re-join. However, we will delete data entirely on request.
